How this calculator works

Liquidation happens when your losses eat through the margin backing the position. On an isolated-margin position the exchange closes you out once the price has moved against you by roughly your margin ratio, minus the maintenance margin the exchange keeps as a buffer.

The formula used here:

long  →  entry × (1 − (1/leverage − mm))
short →  entry × (1 + (1/leverage − mm))

with mm, the maintenance-margin rate, taken as 0.5% — a common tier-one value on major exchanges. At 20× leverage that puts liquidation about 4.5% away from entry; at 100× it is about 0.5%.

What it does not include

Treat the number as an estimate for sizing a position, not as the exact figure your exchange will act on. Always check the liquidation price your own exchange shows for the open position.

Where the data comes from

The live price and the 24-hour liquidation totals on this page are read from the public market and liquidation streams of Binance and OKX, refreshed continuously. Totals are a lower bound: Binance publishes only the largest liquidation per symbol per second, so the real figure is higher than what is shown.

Risk note. Leveraged trading can lose more than your initial margin. This page is an educational calculator only — it is not financial advice, it does not sell or recommend any product, exchange or service, and nothing here is a solicitation to trade.
